About Bri O'Leary
Major/minor/certificate: BS in Marine Biology and Sciences, minor in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences (University of Tampa); Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry (University of South Florida).
Bri is a Research Specialist that has been at the University of Iowa for 11 yrs. Her research has focused on the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) primarily in the context of exploiting differences between cancer cells and normal cells where a fundamental difference in redox state exists. She has a background in chemistry and biochemistry and utilizes her experience in the cancer biology field to participate in translational research focused on developing novel treatments for cancers. In the lab Bri likes to acquire new techniques for her scientific repertoire. Outside of the lab Bri enjoys raising two amazing little humans, biking, and eating great food.
